Educational Centre of Astronomy & Astrophysics
Perched at an altitude of 1,750 meters on Skinakas Peak, the Skinakas Observatory serves as a hub for astronomy enthusiasts. Home to three telescopes, including one shared with the University of Crete, the observatory is open to visitors during the summer months, allowing them to explore the wonders of the cosmos. A new “School of Stars” is being established at the summit, which will feature additional educational facilities, making it a perfect destination for those interested in astronomy and astrophysics.
