Huangling Village, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Jiangxi Province, China, is a shining example of heritage conservation, shared prosperity, and cross-cultural exchange. With a deep commitment to preserving its cultural treasures, Huangling Village stands out as a beacon of innovation in the realm of tourism. 

Huangling Village serves as a model of holistic heritage conservation, economic development, and cultural exchange, demonstrating how a commitment to tradition and innovation can create a thriving and harmonious community. The village maintains and protects 43 ancient buildings and nurtures 32 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, guaranteeing the continuity of traditions. Conservation

The village’s primary objective is the excavation and preservation of its abundant cultural resources. This includes safeguarding historical buildings and intangible cultural heritage, notably the iconic Huangling Ancient Village. This conservation effort not only honors the village’s rich legacy but also fuels remarkable tourism growth. The village focuses on shared prosperity, aiming to uplift its villagers by creating employment opportunities, boosting sales of agricultural products, and improving rural facilities. Tourism serves as the catalyst, bringing multiple benefits to the local community, enhancing livelihoods, and overall well-being.

Traditional Cultural Festivities

Since 2015, Huangling Village has hosted the Sunbathing Culture Festival, a celebration of the annual tradition of drying vibrant crops on scattered rooftops. This unique festival has become a captivating regional event, attracting over 700,000 visitors in 2022. The International Tourism Village Chief Summit, held in 2018 and 2022, brought together over 100 renowned tourism villages worldwide to share their development experiences whilst also, promoting cross-cultural learning and collaboration.

Intangible Cultural Heritage Month

Since June 2018, Huangling has initiated the Intangible Cultural Heritage Month, preserving the traditional culture through seminars, exhibitions, and immersive experiences, ensuring the continuity of their unique heritage. The village also conducts annual training activities for villagers, to educate them on laws and regulations related to heritage protection.
