Ollantaytambo bets on women's leadership

Thanks to the cooperation of the local government, private companies and schools, women of the Huilloc community are strengthening their leadership and participation in decision-making learning how to use technological tools, diversifying the artisanal offer with innovative products and assuming responsibility roles.

Going back to go forward

Thanks to ancestral traditional technique, the farmers in Ollantaytambo are creating sustainable solutions for agriculture in order to produce a greater variety of potatoes, avocado cultivation, and fruits such as strawberries, which were not previously available. This allows, not only a diversification in the locals’ diet, but also a wider offer for tourists.

Trusting young ideas

Ollantaytambo is relying on the students of Toulouse Latrec academy to face the crisis of Covid-19. The young professionals designed more than 70 tourist and commercial shops in Ollantaytambo during the pandemic. Additionally, the TLS students developed a complete proposal to strengthen the Ollantaytambo brand, which is being gradually implemented.
