The Pearl of the Alps
The car-free village of Saas-Fee lies at the foot of the highest mountain in Switzerland, the Dom (4545 m above sea level), which can be admired particularly well from the highest revolving restaurant in the world. During the summer, it is the perfect place for hikers and nature lovers thanks to 350 km of hiking and theme trails. Besides, one can meet the cuddliest inhabitants of the village: the famous tame marmots. In the cold season, Saas-Fee is the mecca for winter (sports) fans and those who want to become one, with its excellent snow conditions and fantastically groomed slopes.
Sustainability is at the heart of Saas-Fee, as the Saas-Fee/Saas Valley vacation region’s sustainability policy goes way back to the 1950s. With the construction of the road from Saas-Grund to Saas-Fee in 1951, the glacier village decided to remain traffic-free. Sustainable development in the Saas Valley does not only mean environmental protection: it strives for a balance between economic, ecological, and social goals. With this sustainable approach, the village of Saas-Fee offers the perfect high alpine destination for summer and winter tourists.ge of Saas-Fee offers the perfect high alpine destination for summer and winter tourists.”

No car no problem
Many guests appreciate the fact that cars are not allowed in Saas-Fee, while they can profit from the public e-shuttle. Nevertheless, guests wish for taxis in certain situations, like when they need to transport their luggage. The solution? The municipality will test a robot that follows the guests with their luggage to their accommodation.
