Located in the department of Valle Grande, the town of Caspal\u00e1 is at an altitude of 3,100 m.a.s.l. Mountainous by nature, it is about 240 km from San Salvador de Jujuy. Declared in 2002 by UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Program (MAB) to preserve a portion of the Yungas mountain forests in northwestern Argentina. In this charming village, ancient customs and colorful shawls stand out. This agro-livestock community opens its doors to share all the magic of its people and its almost extinct traditions. Beautiful and adorned with colorful ribbons and embroidered shawls, Caspal\u00e1 awaits us to share unforgettable days with the warmth of its people. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Caspal\u00e1 was presented to the Latin American tourist public in the framework of the Latin American Meeting of rural community tourism, organized by the Secretariat of Tourism of the Province of Jujuy. The community is at the stage of full inclusion in the provincial tourist offer, as an innovative proposal in the tourist destination of the Yungas region. Among its main attractions is the Santa Rosa de Lima Church, a chapel built in the 1840s by Don Tom\u00e1s Coronel. Its bronze bells were brought from Peru, as well as the image of the patron saint of the town, which Caspal\u00e1 celebrates in her honor every August 30th. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Also of great interest is the Antig\u00fcito, with its ancient mud and stone constructions; and Pueblo Viejo, both archaeological sites of great value. From this magical town you can go on a journey visiting the imposing Camino del Inca and Serran\u00eda de Hornocal.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A very innovative project developed by the village is the “Socio-productive Empowerment of Vulnerable Communities in the Province of Jujuy”, financed by the CAF (Comisi\u00f3n Andina de Fomento). The result of this inclusion was the creation of 8 new rural community-based tourism micro-enterprises.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the natural field, Caspal\u00e1 joined the UNESCO Heritage network in order to preserve part of the mountain forests called Yungas.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As for the cultural side, the women embroiderers of the community of Caspal\u00e1, joined the network of craftswomen of the communities of the Valles de Altura.\u00a0 With this activity, they turn Caspal\u00e1 into a potential community reservoir of Andean food for the world.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
