El pintoresco pueblo egeo de Birgi se encuentra en el distrito de \u00d6demi\u015f de Izmir. Cuenta con una historia de asentamientos que se remonta a m\u00e1s de 5000 a\u00f1os, desde el antiguo Imperio lidio hasta la civilizaci\u00f3n otomana. Durante siglos, Birgi ha sido una de las ciudades m\u00e1s grandes de la regi\u00f3n, actuando como un centro comercial en la hist\u00f3rica Ruta de la Seda, donde se produc\u00eda y comercializaba una variedad de productos agr\u00edcolas, cuero, seda y tejidos. Birgi es casi un museo al aire libre y se caracteriza por el dise\u00f1o y la arquitectura de sus edificios, que muestran la arquitectura tradicional turca con monumentos y casas locales.\u00a0<\/p>

En 2012, Birgi fue propuesta para ser reconocida como Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO y se est\u00e1n llevando a cabo negociaciones oficiales para inscribir el pueblo como un sitio oficial. Birgi ocupa un papel importante como centro hist\u00f3rico y se ha agregado al \u00abProyecto Efeler Trail\u00bb del municipio de \u0130zmir, como parte de una ruta cultural. El pueblo es un punto diferenciador del turismo cultural y religioso, mientras que su ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica y su clima permiten el desarrollo de modalidades alternativas de turismo como el de invierno, campismo y caravanas.<\/p>

Birgi a menudo se considera el coraz\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n y tejido de la seda en Turqu\u00eda. Se cree que su famoso tejido b\u00fcr\u00fcmc\u00fck<\/em> ha estado en producci\u00f3n desde el siglo XV. El \u201cbordado\u201d de oya es otro trabajo artesanal parte de los valores culturales intangibles del pueblo. Despu\u00e9s de haber sido propuesto como Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO, el pueblo ha tenido como objetivo desarrollar el turismo rural para permitir el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, el emprendimiento, la generaci\u00f3n de empleos y el empoderamiento de la comunidad, mientras se protegen los recursos culturales y naturales.<\/p>

Birgi tiene como objetivo desarrollar el turismo a trav\u00e9s de un enfoque sostenible. Grandes esfuerzos para la preservaci\u00f3n del patrimonio<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Birgi se encuentra entre uno de los primeros asentamientos en Turqu\u00eda que ha desarrollado un plan de preservaci\u00f3n urbana. En 1996, el pueblo fue registrado como sitio arqueol\u00f3gico oficial protegido por el Ministerio de Cultura y Turismo (MoCT).<\/p>

Adem\u00e1s, en 2012, el Centro Hist\u00f3rico fue incluido en la Lista provisional del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. Gracias al Fondo de Aportaci\u00f3n al Patrimonio Cultural se facilit\u00f3 la rehabilitaci\u00f3n de la v\u00eda p\u00fablica y la restauraci\u00f3n de varios edificios civiles y monumentales. El objetivo principal del Camino de Efes es promover el desarrollo rural sostenible y hol\u00edstico en la localidad mediante la protecci\u00f3n y utilizaci\u00f3n de la riqueza natural, cultural e hist\u00f3rica, proporcionando as\u00ed desarrollo socioecon\u00f3mico en la regi\u00f3n. El sendero consta de 28 etapas que requieren aproximadamente 30 d\u00edas en recorrerlas caminando. En Birgi, las mujeres juegan un papel activo en el turismo y las \u00e1reas sociales. La Cooperativa de Mujeres \u00d6demi\u015f abri\u00f3 una Tienda de Artesan\u00edas en Birgi. La Junta de Mujeres Empresarias de \u00d6demi\u015f supervisa las actividades y promueven el esp\u00edritu de emprendimiento.
