empinadas orillas del r\u00edo Setrachos que fluye por la zona. Marathasa, parte del Geoparque de la UNESCO de Troodos, alberga catorce pintorescos pueblos en una regi\u00f3n monta\u00f1osa remota y escasamente poblada, con un ecosistema diverso de bosques, manantiales y vegetaci\u00f3n natural, intercalado con peque\u00f1as parcelas agr\u00edcolas de \u00e1rboles caducifolios y vi\u00f1edos. Este encantador pueblo cuenta con arquitectura tradicional, estrechas calles adoquinadas y vistas impresionantes del r\u00edo y el tranquilo paisaje del valle. Con inviernos suaves y veranos frescos, ofrece oportunidades de turismo durante todo el a\u00f1o, centrado en la naturaleza, la cultura y la tradici\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La historia medieval del pueblo es un aspecto importante de su patrimonio cultural, destacada por la emblem\u00e1tica iglesia bizantina de San Juan Lampadistis (un sitio Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO) y varias iglesias bizantinas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as que datan del siglo IX al XV.
