<strong>Old Grand Port<\/strong> es conocido como la cuna de la colonizaci\u00f3n de la isla, ya que en esta zona se produjo el primer asentamiento de Mauricio por parte de los holandeses. El pueblo cuenta con una rica mezcla de recursos hist\u00f3ricos, culturales y naturales. Las ruinas que siguen existiendo a d\u00eda de hoy son un testimonio de la vibrante historia de la isla.  <\/p><p>El pueblo tambi\u00e9n posee paisajes naturales \u00fanicos, como la Monta\u00f1a del Le\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de fauna y flora end\u00e9micas, y su enorme bah\u00eda. En esta bah\u00eda tuvo lugar la hist\u00f3rica \u00abBatalla de Grand Port\u00bb entre franceses y brit\u00e1nicos en 1810, y es hoy una fuente de sustento para la comunidad local. Ha sido proclamada reserva de pesca por su abundancia de marisco.  <\/p><p>El desarrollo de la actividad tur\u00edstica es una de las prioridades de este pueblo: el gran potencial de sus diversas atracciones y de su valor hist\u00f3rico \u00fanico favorece la creaci\u00f3n de oportunidades en diversas actividades econ\u00f3micas relacionadas directa e indirectamente con el turismo, propiciando la mejora del nivel de vida de sus habitantes.<\/p><p>El pueblo cuenta con todas las instalaciones b\u00e1sicas y asociadas que favorecen el fomento del turismo, como el alojamiento, un centro de salud comunitario de la zona, una comisar\u00eda de polic\u00eda y tiendas tradicionales. Desde el punto de vista cultural, la artesan\u00eda y la pesca forman parte de la vida del pueblo, lo que aumenta su atractivo, autenticidad y originalidad. <\/p><p>Su poblaci\u00f3n multi\u00e9tnica, compuesta principalmente por la comunidad de pescadores, agricultores y artesanos locales, sigue perpetuando el modo de vida y las culturas tradicionales que anta\u00f1o conviv\u00edan en la isla en
