70 km de la capital Beirut y a 23 km de Saida.<br \/>Situado a una altitud media de 800 m, Bkassine es famoso por su glorioso bosque de pinos de 200 hect\u00e1reas, el mayor del L\u00edbano y de Oriente Medio, que lo ha convertido en un centro tur\u00edstico privilegiado por su entorno natural intacto y su excelente clima.<br \/>Destaca su suntuosa iglesia de Saint Takla, principal zona de reuni\u00f3n donde se celebran eventos como el Festival anual de Bkassine.<\/p><p>Los visitantes del pueblo suelen quedar asombrados por las espectaculares y siempre cambiantes vistas de las casas tradicionales de tejados rojos enclavadas entre calles estrechas y vegetaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>En los alrededores, se aprecia una serie de contrastes naturales: desde monta\u00f1as desnudas hasta frondosos valles regados por cascadas; las vistas cambian r\u00e1pidamente de colinas cubiertas de pinos a dram\u00e1ticos paisajes rocosos, pasando por f\u00e9rtiles llanuras sembradas de olivos.<\/p><p>El bosque de pinos es la caracter\u00edstica m\u00e1s importante del pueblo que atrae a los turistas a \u00e9l, proporcionando un destino principal para el ecoturismo y desempe\u00f1ando un papel importante en la econom\u00eda rural ofreciendo altas oportunidades econ\u00f3micas a trav\u00e9s de la cosecha de pi\u00f1ones. El Ayuntamiento se encarga de las actividades de mantenimiento y poda del bosque.<\/p><p>Con una rica biodiversidad de especies vegetales, otros productos forestales no madereros incluyen plantas arom\u00e1ticas y medicinales recogidas por la comunidad para uso culinario y medicinal dom\u00e9stico. El bosque incluye varios elementos tradicionales, como antiguos puentes que se remontan a la \u00e9poca de la dominaci\u00f3n otomana, prensas de aceitunas y molinos hidr\u00e1ulicos a lo largo del
