<strong>Pochampally<\/strong>cuenta con una pl\u00e9tora de atractivos, desde el tejido tradicional local de los mundialmente famosos productos IKAT tejidos a mano hasta diversas atracciones de peregrinaci\u00f3n y ecoturismo, patrimonio cultural local, artes esc\u00e9nicas y artesan\u00eda, y otros productos que muestran tradiciones y t\u00e9cnicas \u00fanicas. Este asentamiento ideal en las afueras de una ciudad verdaderamente global, Hyderabad, se enriquece enormemente con su cultura del tejido y su fuerte contexto hist\u00f3rico. El zumbido entra\u00f1able y meditativo del telar manual le atrae a uno sin esfuerzo a la vida de los tejedores y sus familias.  <\/p><p>Es el lugar donde los hilos y los colores llegan a las manos de los h\u00e1biles tejedores y serpentean hasta el mercado en forma de hermosos saris y materiales para vestir.<\/p><p>Con el paso de los a\u00f1os, el tejido de Pochampally ha ganado una inmensa popularidad, y el ikat es ahora uno de los tejidos m\u00e1s famosos y solicitados del pa\u00eds. Esta aldea de la seda, que alberga a m\u00e1s de 10.000 familias de tejedores, cuenta con telares, patrones y t\u00e9cnicas tradicionales que han existido durante siglos. El tejido ikat implica una secuencia de 18 pasos de atado y te\u00f1ido de secciones de hilo atado con un intrincado patr\u00f3n de colores predeterminado antes de tejer. Todos los telares de Pochampally son manuales, ya que se cree que una m\u00e1quina nunca puede reproducir el trabajo de la mano. Los tejedores son populares por sus patrones tradicionales y geom\u00e9tricos en el estilo de te\u00f1ido Ikat.    <\/p><p>El famoso sari de Pochampally obtuvo en 2005 la protecci\u00f3n de los Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual a nivel mundial, conocida como Certificaci\u00f3n de Indicaci\u00f3n Geogr\u00e1fica (IG). Su tejido tradicional ha sido la punta de lanza de la generaci\u00f3n de empleo local, la mejora de la calidad de vida y las opciones de sustento de la comunidad local. Tambi\u00e9n ha reforzado el significado cultural y el sentido de identidad cultural de la comunidad local.
