Oyacachi signifie \u00ab\u00a0visage\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0joue de sel\u00a0\u00bb, un nom d\u00e9riv\u00e9 des visages vieillis par le temps et ensoleill\u00e9s de ses habitants. Il est situ\u00e9 dans le canton d’El Chaco, dans la province de Napo, sur les pentes orientales de la cordill\u00e8re des Andes, au sein du parc national Cayambe Coca. Oyacachi repr\u00e9sente une zone interm\u00e9diaire entre les Andes et l’Amazonie. La majorit\u00e9 des habitants de la communaut\u00e9 appartiennent au groupe indig\u00e8ne Kichwa Kayambi qui s\u2019est install\u00e9 dans cette r\u00e9gion il y a plus de 500 ans. Ils pr\u00e9servent un riche patrimoine naturel et culturel, qui s’exprime \u00e0 travers les connaissances ancestrales et la vision du monde propre aux membres de la communaut\u00e9 d’Oyacachi. Ce patrimoine est un atout pr\u00e9cieux pour le d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique, social et environnemental de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>


Actuellement, Oyacachi est connu sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0terre de l’eau\u00a0\u00bb en raison de la qualit\u00e9 et de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de ses rivi\u00e8res, ruisseaux, cascades, lagunes et sources thermales. Diverses infrastructures et services ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place autour de cette ressource naturelle, notamment des services de transport, d\u2019h\u00e9bergement et de restauration, des activit\u00e9s r\u00e9cr\u00e9atives telles que la p\u00eache sportive de truites arc-en-ciel (Oncorhynchus mykiss), des piscines thermales, des sentiers de randonn\u00e9e, des sites historiques restaur\u00e9s et d’autres installations touristiques. Tout cela contribue \u00e0 offrir une exp\u00e9rience satisfaisante aux visiteurs et a un impact direct sur le dynamisme \u00e9conomique de la communaut\u00e9. Une partie des revenus g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par la vente d’activit\u00e9s et de services dans le complexe thermal est utilis\u00e9e pour des programmes de sensibilisation \u00e0 l’environnement.\u00a0<\/p>


En 2011, l’UNESCO a reconnu la qualit\u00e9 de l’artisanat d’Oyacachi, en particulier ses sculptures, sa pyrogravure et ses peintures mettant en sc\u00e8ne des motifs repr\u00e9sentatifs du th\u00e8me de biodiversit\u00e9. Une grande partie de cet artisanat est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en utilisant du bois d’aulne (Alnus Acuminata), pour lequel un plan de conservation et de gestion a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

L’Association des Artisans joue un r\u00f4le majeur dans la sauvegarde et la promotion des techniques ancestrales de sculpture sur bois d’aulne et de pyrographie \u00e0 travers des cours et des ateliers.<\/p>

La population d’Oyacachi entretient un sentiment d’appartenance \u00e0 son territoire et \u00e0 sa culture et pr\u00e9f\u00e8re adh\u00e9rer aux normes et r\u00e8gles de coexistence qui se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es au fil du temps et des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations.
