En 1994, Cuatro Ci\u00e9negas fue declarada \u00c1rea Natural Protegida y est\u00e1 clasificada como un humedal vital bajo la Convenci\u00f3n RAMSAR. La regi\u00f3n no solo respalda la conservaci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica, sino que tambi\u00e9n fomenta el turismo y la agricultura, brindando a los visitantes la oportunidad de experimentar su riqueza
