Le village de Pochampally<\/strong> pr\u00e9sente de nombreux attraits, notamment les produits IKAT tiss\u00e9s \u00e0 la main de mani\u00e8re traditionnelle, c\u00e9l\u00e8bres dans le monde entier, ou les divers attraits du p\u00e8lerinage, de l’\u00e9cotourisme, du patrimoine culturel local, des arts du spectacle, de l’artisanat et d’autres produits indig\u00e8nes qui mettent en valeur des techniques uniques. Ce village est situ\u00e9 dans un endroit id\u00e9al \u00e0 la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie d’une grande ville, Hyderabad, qui b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie grandement de la culture du tissage et de son fort contexte historique. Le bourdonnement attachant et m\u00e9ditatif du tissage \u00e0 la main transporte imm\u00e9diatement l’auditeur dans la vie des tisserands et de leurs familles. <\/p>

Pochampally est l’endroit o\u00f9 les fils et les couleurs s’assemblent dans les mains des tisserands qualifi\u00e9s, pour ensuite faire une apparition spectaculaire sur le march\u00e9 sous la forme de magnifiques sarees et autres tissus d’habillement.<\/p>

Au fil des ans, le tissage Pochampally a gagn\u00e9 une immense popularit\u00e9, et l’ikat est d\u00e9sormais l’un des tissus les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres et les plus recherch\u00e9s du pays. Ce village de la soie, qui abrite plus de 10 000 familles de tisserands, pr\u00e9sente des m\u00e9tiers \u00e0 tisser, des motifs et des techniques traditionnels qui existent depuis des si\u00e8cles. Le tissage Ikat implique une s\u00e9quence de 18 \u00e9tapes consistant \u00e0 nouer et \u00e0 teindre des sections de fil li\u00e9es selon un motif complexe de couleurs pr\u00e9d\u00e9termin\u00e9es avant le tissage. Tous les m\u00e9tiers de Pochampally sont tiss\u00e9s \u00e0 la main, car on estime qu’une machine ne peut jamais reproduire le travail de la main. Les tisserands sont populaires pour leurs motifs traditionnels et g\u00e9om\u00e9triques dans le style de teinture Ikat. <\/p>

Le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre sari de Pochampally a obtenu en 2005 la protection mondiale des droits de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle, connue sous le nom de certification d’indication g\u00e9ographique (IG). Son tissage traditionnel a permis de cr\u00e9er des emplois locaux, d’am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de vie et les moyens de subsistance de la communaut\u00e9 locale.
